Earth science covers a range of sciences related to life on the planet. Earth science is divided in four main areas: the lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, and biosphere. Basically speaking, these are terms for rocks, water, air and life. Earth science current events will cover recent happenings in these different areas. There are constant changes in the many different categories that comprise these areas. Scientists may cover one specific area or work with several groups. Many areas involve constant analysis, for instance, global warming involves monitoring of glaciers and icecaps and water levels. When there is any significant change in an area it becomes news.
Monitoring and reporting earth science current events can involve traveling all over the world to find and document stories. Earth science current events include natural disasters, animal life, diseases, and many other topics. The earth’s different spheres are closely linked to each other. Events that occur in one area often affect other areas as well, disasters, whether natural or caused, will often reflect on another area of science.
By studying current events in earth science and learning about the relations between their activities, it is possible for scientists to foresee impending disasters and help people prepare for them. Reporters and scientists that study earth science often enter risky areas and place themselves in positions of danger in order to gather important information and learn new things. Keeping tabs on current happenings and events and helping the public be aware of the changes occurring around them helps people to have a greater awareness of the world, the effects their actions have on the environment and life on the planet, and hopefully, implant changes to make the world a better place.
